Due to this I now bought this machine; indeed, Linux (Fedora LXDE 27; Clonezilla live 20170905 zesty amd64) boots pretty well from USB sticks (Fedora live, Clonezilla live) and external USB disks (completely installed Fedora 27) and continues running and working without any problem. WiFi works; sound and brightness are not bad, nearly good. I did not try the “suspend on lid close”, as I never use it and always completely shut down the computer in case of longer interruption..
